SNSD were named the ‘Best Girl Group‘ on KBS 2TV’s ‘Generation Empathy Saturday‘ aired on February 5th.
In the ‘Ranking! Old and New‘ section of the show, ‘Girl Group Best 10‘ which were picked by the viewers/audience was announced.
One of the notable names in the top 3 was Fin.K.L, a group which debuted more than 10 years ago. The group released their last digital single in 2005 and the members (Lee Hyori, Ok Juhyun, Lee Jin, Sung Yuri) have since pursued their own solo activities. The group has not officially disbanded.
The viewers/audience picked SNSD as the ‘Best Girl Group‘ with Fin.K.L as the runner-up. Wonder Girls came in 3rd, while the highly popular group during Fin.K.L’s era, S.E.S took the no.4 spot. Kara came in 5th, followed by Browen Eyed Girls (6th), Secret (7th) and 2NE1 (8th). SNSD’s juniors f(x) were ranked 9th, just a place above another veteran girl group, Baby V.O.X.
