Girls' Generation has been confirmed to perform at a special concert on April 24th on Jeju Island.
The concert will be broadcast by SBS as part of a special called "Jeju Island's 7 Landscapes of Natural Beauty" and will be held at Jeju Island's Halla Gymnasium. Other acts scheduled to perform include DBSK, Big Bang, CNBlue, 4Minute, and After School.
Concert organizers specifically chose the most popular singers of the Hallyu. Approximately 2,000 people will be in attendance, including 300 foreigners from Japan, China, and Southeast Asia.
Han Kyeongah, Director of Marketing for the Visit Korea Year Association, said, "We prepared this event to capitalize on the global phenomenon of K-Pop to promote the 'Visit Korea Year' and Jeju Island internationally. We will be developing tourist packages which will appeal to the international market, and we will promote Korea using a combination of our intellectual property and tourism."
