The 1st album ‘Girls’ Generation’ had consistently sold above 20,000 copies daily for the past 6 days and indeed, the question we asked just a few days ago was answered today with a firm ‘YES!’. Recording sales of 21,841 copies on day 6 took the total cumulative sales to 215,198 copies and this was accomplished within the very first week of its official release!

The ongoing ’1st Japan Arena Tour’ and appearance on various music shows in Japan have indeed propelled the girls’ popularity greatly. Having to perform so many concerts within such a short time is never an easy task to accomplish. The mind is willing but the body has its own limits as well. Recently, we have heard news about Sooyoung having a 38 degree Celsius fever and Sunny getting an intravenous (IV) drip, but the girls are determined to strive on as not to disappoint their beloved SONEs. As SONEs, we should always believe in our girls and let our prayers and support empower them always.
Nonetheless, their hard work paid off and well justified as they successfully sold over 20,000 copies a day for 6 straight days. With their tireless efforts, SNSD are laying a firm foundation through the ’1st Japan Arena Tour’ which sees them taking on a total of 14 concerts in 6 cities in Japan. As the fanbase grows with such strong foundation, Shoujo Jidai will be launching waves and waves of ‘attacks’ on Japan’s music industry.
The girls are definitely not new in breaking records and as we observed the pattern from the sales figures of their releases in week 1 so far, it has been displaying an upward trend. We won’t be surprise if we were told that the girls achieved sales of 300,000 copies in the first week for their next release.
Figures aside, the true fact is that SNSD need SONEs and SONES need SNSD. So, #prayforsnsd always and let us cheer our girls on forever as we step into the new world with them!
