It was reported today that SM Entertainment has joined forces with JYP Entertainment and Key East Entertainment for the production of KBS drama “Dream High: Season 2.”
According to Sports Seoul, an official from KBS said on August 24th, “SM’s CEO Kim Young Min and JYP’s President Jung Wook are really close friends. I’ve heard the two have agreed to work together to produce a good music-based TV drama. Since both agencies have great resources, we are really looking forward to their end product.”
“Dream High: Season 2” is currently in the planning stages with the goal of airing early next year. The casting has not been confirmed yet, but since the first season featured a star-studded line up of 2PM’s Taecyeon andWoo Young, miss A’s Suzy, IU, and T-ara’s Eun Jung, fans are anticipating another idol-star heavy cast. With the addition of SM Entertainment, who has Super Junior, SNSD, DBSK, f(x), and SHINee under their wings, the casting is expected to be even more magnificent.
The first season of “Dream High” was co-produced by JYP Entertainment and Key East Entertainment. Headed by Bae Yong Joon, Key East Entertainment manages activities of Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Soo Hyun, and Lee Ji Ah, to name a few.
Meanwhile, the cast of “Dream High: Season One” will hold a special event in Japan titled, “Dream High Premium Event 2011,” on September 4th to celebrate the release of the show’s special DVD.
