On October 6th, the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) revealed that SNSD‘s Seohyun and Super Junior‘s Donghae will be singing the theme song for the ‘2011 Asia Song Festival‘ together at Daegu Stadium.
The theme song is titled “Dreams come True“, and is said to be a cheerful melody which anyone could follow along with easily.
The two singers will be performing at the event, free of charge. Furthermore, a digital single of the song will be released on the 11th and proceeds will be donated to UNICEF. The funds will be used to treat children who are suffering in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Djibouti.
Interestingly enough, the two idols will be appointed as UNICEF envoys on the 11th at Changseong-Dong, Seoul. This is a notable feat, as only those who have a respectable reputation are appointed as goodwill representatives.
Seohyun, who’s already worked with UNICEF in the past for the “Help Children in Africa” project, shared, “I’m thankful and honored that my skills can be put to use in helping the children in Africa.”
Aside from SNSD and Super Junior, other artists from all over Asia will participate in the event as well, including Lee Seung Gi, Perfume (Japan), Peter Ho (Taiwanese), Zhou Bichang (Chinese), Tata Young (Thai), and Leo Ku (Hong Kong).
