The social music venture company, Muse Alive, compiled 89,459 K-Pop music video links that were shared on Facebook and found that “The Boys” was shared the most for a total of 959 times. Gee was shared 200 times and came in fifth. Girls’ Generation had the most music videos shared among Korean artists, taking an impressive eleven of the top fifty spots.
“The Boys” music video has proved to be a success in 2011, reaching a total of 25 million views two months after its release on SMTOWN’s Youtube channel. Gee, the song that arguably propelled Girls’ Generation to the top of the music industry, is still maintaining its popularity among fans, having just passed sixty million views on Youtube.
