Girls’ Generation was the final recipient of the Digital Bonsang at the ’26th Golden Disk Awards’ held in Kyocera Dome, Osaka on January 12th.
Upon receiving the Bonsang, the girls said, “Thank you to all the fans, who love not only one song ‘The Boys’ but all the songs in the 3rd album. We will be the Girls’ Generation who work even harder in the future.”
Girls’ Generation’s 3rd album ‘The Boys’ was released on October 19th, 2011. Despite being released at the end of 2011, ‘The Boys’ emerged as the best selling album in 2011 with sales of 385,348 copies according to the GaOn Charts.
Girls’ Generation entertained the fans at Kyocera Dome on the second day of the award presentation ceremony with ‘The Boys’ and ‘Mr. Taxi’.

Girls’ Generation completed their Golden Disk hat-trick by clinching the Digital Daesang for ‘The Boys’.
During their acceptance speech, the girls said, “Thank you to everyone who made this glorious day possible for us. After receiving this great award in previous years, we feel really honored to receive it again. We will return the favor of everyone who have helped to make us who we are by improving ourselves even more. ‘SONE’ We love you!”
In 2009, the girls took the Digital Daesang for ‘Gee’ from their 1st mini album which took no.1 for 9 consecutive weeks on Music Bank K-Chart.

In 2010, Girls’ Generation captured the Disk Daesang for the first time with their hit song ‘Oh!’ from their 2nd album.
By capturing the Digital Daesang in the ’26th Golden Disk Award’, Girls’ Generation have emerged as the first girl group to have completed the Daesang hat-trick in the history of ‘Golden Disk Awards’.
