Korean female pop stars Girls' Generation has continued to create a big splash in Japan, sweeping mobile music charts with their second Japanese single.
According to Japan's Recochuku's weekly mobile music chart on October 28, "Gee," which was released in the country last week, took first place, while becoming the most downloaded track on the Video Clip chart and several other charts including music.jp, Hudson, JOYSOUND and mora.
They have led a successful singing career in Japan since August this year, attracting over 20,000 fans to their first showcase in the country and becoming the first Korean girl group to rank No. 1 on the prestigious Oricon chart with "Gee" as well as placing in the top 5 slots on its weekly DVD chart with their DVD "‘少女時代到 ~日記念盤~New Beginning of Girls' Generation."
The nine-member girl group will make their comeback today on KBS’ televised music show “Music Bank” with their title track "Hoot" from their third mini-album of the same name which received over 150,000 pre-orders.
Their latest song has also topped various online daily music charts since its release on Monday.
Composed of members Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Jessica, Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri and Sooyoung, Girls' Generation made their debut in 2007 with their single album "Into the New World."
